Graduating Student Information:

  • Expect Delays: There is significant construction on Juanita Drive (the only road that accesses Bastyr’s campus). Please allow for potential delays. Allow for 30 minutes from Bothell Way to Bastyr’s entrance.

  • Arrival Time:  Do not arrive on campus more than one hour before the start of your ceremony.  We will be coordinating the exit of cars from the previous ceremony, so want to ensure there are no traffic jams in the parking lot.

  • Driving and Parking: Please plan to drive together with your guests to the ceremony.  We will be using only the North Parking Lot, so space is limited.

  • Show Up Dressed and Ready: There will be no building access before or after the ceremony, so please come fully dressed and prepared.

  • Call about your name pronunciation: In order to ensure that your name is properly pronounced at graduation, please call 425-602-3030 from Monday, June 7 – Friday, June 11. If you do not call by 8:00pm on Friday, June 11, we cannot guarantee accurate pronunciation.

  • Regalia and Ticket Information: All students participating in commencement are supplied with the appropriate regalia.  You may only wear the regalia supplied by the University, as it accurately depicts the degree you are receiving on this day.  Regalia depicting previous degrees received from other institutions, etc., are not appropriate and will not be allowed.  Similarly, you may not add extra decorations to your regalia. You may pick up your regalia at the Student Resource Center beginning Monday, June 14th-Friday, June 18th, 9 am-3:00 pm. Tickets will be provided with your regalia.

  • Diplomas:  The Office of the Registrar will mail your diploma to you, so please ensure they have correct mailing information for you.  For those of you participating in the ceremony prior to completing all your course and/or clinic requirements, you will receive your diploma around 6 weeks after your final quarter.

  • Financial Aid Exit Interview - Required: If you received any Federal Student Loans (Stafford or Graduate PLUS Loans) during your time at Bastyr, you are required to complete an online student loan exit interview. There is a posting on MyBU on SharePoint (https://bastyr.sharepoint.com) with information about the web sites you will need to use to complete your required online exit interview and how to get your Federal Student Loan history. The exit interview will cover repayment options, interest rates and consolidation of your student loans and much more, and must be completed within 30 days of your graduation date. If you have questions about the process, please email Danette Grace Wells at finaid@bastyr.edu.
